Structural Testing Lab

This new lab is quite unique because the lab is used for testing timbers and there are only twenty structural testing labs in the United States. This new lab for the University of Georgia has an L shaped wall that has six foot thick strong concrete. The floors are also six foot thick concrete. This building is different because it is not all about the design but it is about the criteria for the building. When they test the timbers and structures, they actually use the building to test it. Since the building is used s a machine, this is why its walls are so thick. The lab portion of the building is what is important and what costs the most money. Since this concrete lab need to be enclosed, a pre manufactured metal building acts as an envelope to enclose the lab.
